The IET Institution...

*A Brief Introduction to those who do not know wat IET is...*


Institute of Electrical Engineering (IEE) was founded in 1871, and the head office is at Savoy Place, London. There are 90 branches established by IEE in the world. There are 130 000 membership at present. IEE is a well recognised Institute with good standing and it is the largest professional engineering body in Europe. The members in IEE who have joined together to promote the advancement of electrical, electronic and manufacturing science and engineering, range from students to the most distinguished and highly qualified members of the profession. Though, this well-known institution has just recently been merged with Institute of Incorporated Engineers (IIE) to form IET, which stands for Institute of Engineering and Technology. Formed in spring 2006, this institution involves not only engineers but also to those pursuing their career in IT field. To find out more bout it, please visit IET.


At Malaysia, IET is a well-known organisation linked with lotsa well-known professional engineers. IET also helps a normal engineer to be a professional engineers with the title 'chartered engineers, C.Eng'. With this initial that will be a part of ur name upon achieving it, u are eligible to work in other countries worldwide without a shadow of doubt from ur employers.


In UNITEN, IET exist as a student chapter named UISC, which stand for Uniten IET student Chapter. This club is open for all electrical and IT students. Running for 3 consecutive years, this club has made an impact to da university with its marvelous n unstoppable activities ranging from technical to social activities. Besides UNITEN, varsities like UCSI, INTI, MMU and some other private & local universities also had their own student chapter. Often here n there, we hav lotsa join activities between da varsities. So, for those of u who r keen and interested to join this society, dun be shy to contact ur local student chapter. For undergraduates pursuing their courses in UNITEN, feel free to visit UISC.
