Microsoft Windows Vista - the all new sixth incarnation 'WOW' generation

Official launch of Windows Vista at LowYat Plaza...got this free mineral water...hehe

Windows Vista was officially launched at Lowyat Plaza yesterday, at 8pm. I wasnt there to witness the excitement happening amongst the people there coz i came there quite early, about 1pm. Tiring ma. Go there (Sg. Wang) with the early intention to get myself a few new year clothes but hey, shopping isn't easy. Haha,I only managed to buy a t-shirt. Walk for almost 6 hours non-stop and ended up wif only a miserable t-shirt. Sigh, leg aching n etc. I just wondering how those 'shopping kaki can reli shop??' especially gurls......

and got this HWM (hardware mag) for free oso....

Okay, back to the point. What was happening during that time was the events held at lowyat plaza in conjunction to the grand launcing of Windows Vista. They have lotsa prizes up for grabs during that day. I went around testing the new 'vista' which they had quite a number of lappies ready around that vicinity to be tested by the public. The requirement of this new Vista stunned me. Take a look:

The all new VISTA :

~minimum 1GB RAM, preferred at least 2GB RAM for "high performance"
~minimum geforce6 series and above/ATI X1000 and above, preferred geforce8 series and above "high performance"
~minimum 80Gb hard disk space, preferred (depends on u-160GB will be quite sufficient for nomal users) for "high performance"
~minimum Pentium D 2.8GHz processor, preferred latest Intel Duo-Core processor "high performance"
~and etc....sound card, motherboard, monitor

the superb brand new 3D interface....i cant hav Vista rite now...but this is my current desktop background...hehe

Man, how on earth can i actually experience the new "WOW' stuff when my 4 years old comp (still running quite perfectly) doesnt meet that requirement? I only have a 2.6GHz, 756 RAM, geforce FX5200 and a mere 60 GB hard disk. U say 'sien bu sien'? Well, for those of u intended to install this 'vista' wif requirement around that minimum ones or below, i advice u betta not to do that. It wont make a big difference. Seems like everything is changing rapidly. 4 years back when i bought my comp, there are stuffs like Hyper-Threading and so on. Now, the HT is useless and processor runs in dual core instead of the old single core. Few years later, its rumoured that quadruple core will be out in the market. Gosh, if human walks on 2 leg, will they later walk on 4 leg like 'Gollum'?? (Just crapping) ^_-

chun, chun and chunted...look at the right hand sidebar gadgets....

Of coz, wif new technology comes wif new benefits and all new exciting digital life, not to forget da 'excited money' we pay. Bill Gates definitely is getting extra richer from this. The benefits? Well, if u meet the preferred requirement den congrats! U will be able to see the vast difference compared to the 'OLD' Windows XP. (old???) If u dun meet that requirement,den the Vista will revert itself back to the normal old interface. A totally brand new interface with great 3D effects. Lemme rephrase it in point form ;

~ It has the all-new 3D flippin feature
~ Its running direct X10, which is only available for windows Vista for AERO effect.
~ Your computer doesn't need a 3rd-party antivirus software anymore if u buy the original version. Simply means, u can dump away the 'troublesome' Norton Antivirus, McAfee, PC-cilin,AVG or Karspersky
~ emptied recycle bin can be recovered if u wish to
~ sidebar at the right hand side or ur windows able to perform numerous specific tasks wif lotsa gadgets
~ explosive task management
~ virtual folders
~ parental control support
~ betta productivity
~ obviously a superb gaming device or superb movee effect.
~ multiple sound solution in ur music (can support 7.1 ~ 8 channel speakers)
~ and da list goes on.... (if u wanna noe more, kindly go to ur nearest computer shop that actually has vista and try it out k?)

the WMP vista version....amplify ur music and excite life....

For me? I couldn't be bothered much bout this. C'mon, not that i hav enough cash to fork in a 3k comp. 3k comp rite now can giv u an almost high-end preformance. I dun see it as a necessity rite now. Maybe i will get to use it one day, perhaps by the end of this year whr 2Gb RAM, graphic cards and Intel duo core processor are much cheaper. Any sponsors??? hehe... =p

Vista n me.... muahaha.... ^_-
