SMART tunnel trip

Smart tunnel!Come on ppl, get to know some facts on this...

The trip to SMART tunnel organized by IET INTI SJ was interesting. Many of u staying outside of the region of KL wouldn't have known of SMART tunnel. You might have heard it, but not knowing it in much detail. For ur information, SMART tunnel is the first 'dry n wet' concept tunnel that exist in the world. No other country had done this and its one of Malaysia's pride to have it first. Most country (e.g America,Japan,England n etc) will either have the subway itself or the water tunnel. The combination of that, can be first found in MALAYSIA. Hats off to those successful engineers to have done or involved in this mega project.

the control office, almost to completion...

the macho guys, dun play-play....hehe

the BORING machine model, this is wat they used to drill holes and made da tunnel underground...

the model of KL, can u spot the tunnel?dun be silly, its underground.. =p

In short, (quoted from http://www.smarttunnel.com.my/ ) SMART is an acronym for 'Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel', a project under the Federal Government initiated to alleviate the flooding problem in the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. There are lotsa things have to be considered in building this 2 billion mega tunnel. The amount of work n effort that has been placed in this project was enormous. The tunnel was almost to completion, just that they need to do some maintenance n run thru b4 opening to the public. They used 2 giganto boring machine to drill this tunnel. The 3km long tunnel is the one that we can drive thru from Sg. Besi highway to the roundabout of Jln Tun Razak (MRR). From what i know during this trip, the road tunnel will be opened by the end of March but the final decision will be made by our Kabinet. The trip to this tunnel wasn't easy. We had actually 10 places given by the INTI IET SJ (almost 40 ppl) at first but later on, they reduced it to 5 only. Sad to say, the club president and few others havta sacrifice their place to giv us in. Sorry Mr Tan, Gary, Raymond and Balraj (ex-pressio), u ppl cant join us to the trip. There we go; me, Weeser, Iynggaran, Firdaus and Alfred (a.k.a. BARA-TUNG) left at 8am. 'Ronda-ronda' around and finally found the place, our destination. We drove thr coz only 5 of us went and we met up with INTI ppl thr. I was delighted to be told that we (those who went for that trip) were the first uni student to have entered to the SMART tunnel control room. Haha! A personal record? Wat do u think? The part i like the most is during the Q & A with the management director lady. (i forgotten her name..haha) She exposed to us a lot on not only bout the SMART tunnel but also during da working life. Well, its obvious that working life n studying is 2 different thing. When u work, u havta consider a lot of things practically. U will noe wat i meant when u ppl work! =p

the control room...haha...we are da first!!! *proud* ... =p

uni10 iET left and the rest INTI iET on da right....

uni10 IET with the management director,a very experience lady,a person worth a lot of respect...

This trip ended at bout 1.30pm. Later on, we went to SS14 coz Digital Mall at the area had some cheap computer stuff on sale tat day. They even had mini auction on certain items like printer,handphones,pandrive,mp4 which started at the price of RM 10 or RM 99 at most. There u go, ppl started to raise their bids; but from what i seen, i dun reli think its worth tat much also. Nokia 5300, which is sold in the range of 800 to 1k in the market for AP and ori (somewhr tat range also) was sold to the highest bidder at RM 930. Lolz, wats cheap den? No idea? Haha, ppl just simply jack up the price for fun of it. Left that place at bout 4pm with only 2 of us bought 1 GB pendrive at RM 39. There goes another day, back to uni10. ^_-

Anyone goin for RAIN's concert this month???I dun get it, how come this kinda concert's ticket worth so exp?Swt, i wouldn't hav waste that much of money for 'these' concerts. So, unless i get free ticket, i won't go n watch! FREE tickets! Hehe! =)
